Working with Lina
I came to Lina at a time when my life — which looked perfect from the outside — had collapsed almost overnight. In the beginning, I suppose I came to Lina with the hope of answering this one question: “Why did this happen to me?”
As we explored my childhood, Lina identified that I was raised in two conflicting worlds, and this “trainwreck moment” was the point where those two worlds finally collided.
Coming from an Indian cultural background, I knew I wanted to work with someone who understood the expectations, the pressures, and the unspoken rules I had grown up with.
Being able to bring my full self into the room, without having to explain or hide cultural nuances, has allowed the work to unfold in the most authentic way.
As I’ve come to understand how my own childhood has shaped the decisions I made as an adult, working with Lina has made me reflect deeply on the kind of environment I want to create for my own daughter.
After years of being submissive and disappearing to appease others, I am finally on the road to finding the inner confidence to step into who I truly am as a woman.
